Event Details
The PRJC (Potomac River Jazz Club) is excited to announce a special OKTOBERFEST-themed jazz concert. The music will honor our beloved trad/New Orleans style, but we’ll also salute the flavor of the month with a high energy roll-out-the-barrel dance performance. We are teaming with the World Folk Music Association (WFMA) to present The Heather Pierson Jazz Trio Plus, luckily snagging the group off its 2,000-mile road tour from New Hampshire to Texas.
Heather has performed in the DC area for packed WFMA audiences before. Now, her first-time PRJC/Rosensteel appearance will show off her deep New Orleans playlist. We think you will love her as a fresh face, talented at the keyboard, and as a richly nuanced vocalist. Our aim through the WFMA collaboration is to introduce their members to trad and keep them coming for more.
We’re excited to welcome Heather, Shawn Nadeau (bass). Davey Sturtevant (tpt, et. al) to PRJC where they’ll be joined by local favorites Anita Thomas on reeds and Anders Elliasson on drums. Mark your calendar now - we hope you’ll be there to share the afternoon with us and with her.
Rosensteel Hall has ample free parking, is 4 blocks from the Forest Glen Metro, has a full cash bar, plenty of seating and a GREAT dance floor. Come on out and see why the PRJC has stood strong for 50 years, bringing live traditional jazz to the DC area.
