Hawthorne Country Club is Southern Maryland's only private member owned club with facilities for athletic sports as well as social gatherings for the whole family. Tucked away on Rt. 225 just outside of La Plata, Maryland and overlooking the Port Tobacco Valley, we offer one of the best views in Charles County. Our Par 72 Ed Ault designed golf course offers fun for the novice golfer as well as the most advanced player. No tee times required, so play is available when you are. We have a wide variety of golf tournaments throughout the year for Men, Women and Mixed players as well as Men’s and Ladies Golf Leagues. We also offer individual golf instruction all year long from our PGA certified golf professional. We have a large swimming pool as well as a fenced baby pool and playground. Our competitive Swim Team swims throughout the summer with meets here at Hawthorne Country Club and around the adjacent counties. We have lighted Tennis Courts for play throughout the summer months. Our clubhouse boasts a full bar facility with an enclosed deck, outside deck and snack bar deck to take in the fabulous views. The Bar area is open to the public and is available for your party, banquet and business function needs.
