All Revelers, all ages, both veteran and new, are invited to join our colorful and lively parade unit — we'll show a special summer side of Washington Revels to thousands of July 4th spectators!
Event Details
If you prefer, come sit curbside and cheer with the festive crowd.
Our joyous and robust band of revelers will be a vibrant and distinctive section of this historic parade (130 years and still going strong!). We will sing, cheer, hand out flyers, and wave whimsical props like “Snap the Dragon,” a Smiling Sun, bright flags, banners, ribbon sticks and more!
Kids are welcome (including kids in strollers), and older ones will have their own song to sing; children under 13 must be accompanied in the parade by a responsible adult. We’ll also need adult flyer-hander-outers, so non-singers are encouraged to participate! If you play an instrument that can be easily carried and you would like to be in the band, let us know that as well.
Once again making this Independence Day Parade particularly meaningful for Revels, we will be joined by a group of teenage Syrian refugees and their teenage American hosts, in partnership with RefAmerica. Let’s give our Syrian friends a warm welcome and a fun window onto a slice of American life!
