Event Details
The Frederick Children’s Chorus will present a concert on December 14 at 7:30 p.m. in St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church.
The beautiful church interior will resonate with the concert opener, Non nobis, Domine, a canon in 3 parts from the period of composer William Byrd and author William Shakespeare. This will be followed by 3 movements of Benjamin Britten’s vibrant Missa Brevis in D, opus 63. Several Christmas songs will be included in the program, like shiny ornaments decorating the tree. Audience members will enjoy the familiar French carol, Sing We Now of Christmas, (Noël Nouvelet), the Russian song The Sleigh (À La Russe), and Silent Night (Stille Nacht).
Chorus Alumni will be invited to join the full chorus to sing the Gospel Spiritual Go Where I Send Thee. With snow and stars sharing the spotlight as the primary theme, it promises to be a joyful evening.
