Event Details
We invite you to bring your “ordinary miracles,” like photos, instruments, dolls, and art to be a part of a Pop Up Museum at your community center, library, church, or any other space. A Pop Up Museum is a temporary exhibition created by the people who show up to participate. Participants write a label for their object and leave it on display during the event.
We will also share “ordinary miracles” from our collection. We have everything from hot combs to musical instruments to sculptures to furniture. The list is limitless so let your imagination fly!
What else is there to do at the event?
Family Fun Activities: In addition to the Pop Up Museum, we’ll have creative artmaking for all ages. Forget to bring an object? No worries! Your creation will be your exhibit item. Not an artist? Not a problem! Our Teaching Artists are professional arts educators who can work with all skill levels.
Share Your Story: Are you a Washingtonian who moved out of the District? Are you from another part of the state, country, or planet? Or are you a native Prince Georgian? We want to hear from you! Sign up to share your story at our oral history station and tell us about your connection to the County.
Is this appropriate for children?
Absolutely! We invite Prince Georgians of all ages to participate.
