Actors learn and practice a variety of techniques to convey emotion and realism but these techniques are not developed to address the situations bellydancers usually experience.

Bellydancers need to be able to express emotion on stage but most dance classes leave this piece out.
In this two and a half hour crash course you will learn some acting techniques specifically tailored for bellydancers.
You will learn about the three Cs of acting, communication, connection, and commitment. We’ll review the basics of Stanislavsky, Uta Hagen, and a few other methods to find what might work best for you. And go over how to create a character. The class will also explore your personal impediments and common blocks and some techniques to remove them.
This class is perfect for intermediate and advanced dancers who seek to up their performance game. These techniques will help you become a stronger and more confident performer in any situation.
Class will be limited to 8 students to provide personal coaching.
The class is a mix of lecture, discussion, and movement. Students should wear comfortable clothing.

About the instructor:
Farah Abi was an actor before she was a dancer. She has extensive training in acting and theater performance. She has studied realism at the Studio Conservatory in Washington, DC and has researched acting methods to adapt them for bellydancers.
