Hosted by the BCC-Rotary along with the Mexican Embassy, the event, a celebration of Mexican culture, will take place in downtown Bethesda, Maryland.

Event Details

Kicking off with an irreverent “Micro-Marathon,” racers will compete to raise money and win prizes with just 50 strides to greatness! The Race, which features all the trappings of a major road race in just 164 feet, leads into a large-scale street festival. Join us a our Mexican street festival, featuring Tacos, Music, Dancing, Games, Contests, and Kids Area!

THE FESTIVAL
Spanning two city blocks the Cinco de MayoThon Festival is cultural food and fun for all ages. The Festival includes:
Food Vendors
A Cerveza Tequila Garden
Performers and Artists (On a stage and roaming the crowd)
Sponsor Tents
The Piñata Pit (a family friendly zone with face painters, build a Piñata…)
Contests (Best Taco, Jalapeño Eating…)
Activities (Cornhole, Selfie Walls…)
Raffles and Prizes (Including a trip to Mexico!)

THE RACE
Registered participants get to run in the race of a lifetime. From balloon arch to balloon arch and every water station in between, runners will be pushed to their physical limits for 0.05 km, 164 feet. Start training now for your 50 strides to glory! Registered runners receive:
A race shirt memorializing their effort.
Complimentary food tickets
A race number that serves as their raffle ticket for great prizes.
The race number is also an entry ticket for our contests.
A limited-edition Cinco de MayoThon .05k bumper sticker.
